Rise of Rome - How did they do it?

Why was Rome so successful in its conquest of Italy?

  1. Their fighting techniques were incredible. They had great use of using arrows and swords and many more dangerous weapons. They had great ways of tricking and fooling others to the conquest of Italy. Most of all nothing stood in their way.

  2. Rome was very successful in their conquest of Rome because they could live better than the Greeks could. They had farm land and space to have livestock. The mountain ranges aren’t as rugged so new settlers could come easily. The city was settled near the Tiber River so they had a source of water. Rome was a big trading place so people came and lived there to become better people.

  3. Rome had mountains that they purposely built so that they could hide and win the wars that they competed in. They also have better living places and have better farms than Greece and grow really yummy food because they have better farm land. They had really great techniques that help them win wars.

  4. Rome was successful because their army was strong and had excellent soldiers. Their tough discipline helped make the army tough and strong. At first they fought like the greeks but soon they realised that was a slow and hard way to fight so they formed smaller groups called legions. Not only did they have a strong army they were fantastic and smart planners.

  6. Rome was successful in their conquest because they had steep hill to fight off enemies. They also had a lot of flat space to farm. They did not have a lot of rocky hills so it was easy to travel unlike the greeks. They had the tiber river for water, so rome became a stopping place.

    What made Rome so strong?
Rome was very strong for many reasons. They had excellent soldiers, and they hardly ever gave up. One of the most important reasons is because their discipline was very harsh. Any male citizen who owned land had to serve in the army. At first they fought like the Greeks. But they found out that this way was slow and hard to control. Then they split into smaller groups called legions. Each legion had 6,000 soldiers. They also split into smaller groups in the legions 60 to 120 men. These groups made it easier to attack the enemy or the land they wanted to conquer. These groups also moved quicker.

  8. They were sucessful because they had tall mountains that there enimies could not get over which made them back off sort of and they were sucessful. They also had a better way of living because they were more protected and they were stronger than most countries.

  9. Rome was successful because they had pretty flat land. This allowed them to grow crops more easily and travel more easily. Having various rivers made it easier for them to collect water. Also, their soldiers were great fighters.

  10. Rome was successful because they had tall mountains to protect them selves and were fare from the sea that they could not be by enemy ships. The Romans had lots of farm land to grow food and crops and space to keep animals that is why the Romans were successful.

The Romans were so successesful since they were located on a hill so they could over look and see if anything was coming. They had lots of flat land with rich soil for good farming. The Romans were more as one then the Greeks.

  12. Rome was successful because they had a great army. Many men had to join the army because they owned land. Their strategies started off the same as the Greeks. After they released that getting a new one would trick the Greeks. The Romans took farming seriously. It was their main food source. Rivers helped them gather water. The Romans were very disciplined.

  13. Over all the Romans where smarter, better with bows, swords, and all other weapons. The Romans where successful because they had studied there opponent and everybody knew what to do. Also Italy was not as much into war and violence. Italians liked the arts school and cooking. The Romans may of taken over Italy but they still spread the culture and let the people continue there practices just as Alexander the Great did when taking over Greek city states.

  14. What was the success of Rome?
All the great success was at a time where Greece was very weak. To the credit of Greece they had to fight for farming land unlike rome. Also Athens was a hey defeat. From that they created a Republic that was similar. For 40 years of mass reign of Phillip the 2nd, And Alexander the great. For that helped, but there land was soil rich so they could feed their troops. The landscaping had a vast plain plain fit for farming. All these aspects helped Rome succeed.
